There is nothing more satisfying than baking bread at home. Right from mixing ingredients to kneading and watching it rise is relaxing, healing and therapeutic. And yes! The aroma of fresh bread wafting through is so comforting.
In most of the breads that I bake, I use whole wheat flour. I also use oats, finger millets (Raagi) and other whole grains. Whole grains are any day healthier than the refined flour. Whole grain breads are dense and crumbly, high in nutrition, very filling and great in taste.
I use standard 240ml cup for measuring ingredients. You may refer to the conversion calculator given in the second row of the top bar in my blog.

DeleteHi namita
ReplyDeleteIm vry new into bread baking. In fact my first attempt of baking whole wheat domino style garlic bread was just Ok. Today madevsame bread with maida n it showed some improvement. My question is does the whole wheat flour dough as much as maida dough??
However, im not satisfied as both my doughs didnt really double, can u pls help me??
Hello Babbupreet, welcome to the beautiful world of baking breads. Whole wheta flour does not rise as much as maida. It is heavier and bread comes out dense. When it comes to rising, make sure that the yeast is working. Rising time may differ depending on climate. Sometimes it takes more than 1 1/2 hours for dough to double. From your side ensure that dough has been kneaded till soft elastic and a little sticky.

However, I am totally awed by your bread collection and can't wait to try them. I love baking but due to several failed attempts, lost interest.... But hope to get some good results using your recipe Insha'Allah
